President Yoweri Museveni has appointed 7 new judges to the high court.
In a letter dated 1st March 2016, addressed to the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga and copied to Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda, Museveni appointed Zeija Flavian, Anne Mugenyi Bitature, Moses Kawumi Kazibwe, Ketra Katunguka, Suzan Okalany, Ayuko Anthony Ojok, and Mubiru Steven.
The appointment is in line with Article 142 (1) of the 1995 constitution, which gives the President Powers to appoint judges.
