The Electoral Commission has appointed Wednesday 9th March 2016, as the date for elections for Parliamentary and Local Government Councils in the constituencies/districts where the polling process was suspended on 18th and 24th February 2016.
The areas include, Dokolo South Constituency, for Member of Parliament, Kamwenge, Kibale County Constituency, Member of Parliament, Kamwenge, Kitagwenda County Constituency, Member of Parliament, Kisoro, Bufumbira East County Constituency, Member of Parliament, Namutumba, Busiki County Constituency, Member of Parliament, Sembabule, Mawogola City South Constituency, Member of Parliament, Buyende District Constituency, Woman Representative to Parliament, Kween District Constituency, Woman Representative to Parliament.
Others are; Kyegegwa District Constituency, Woman Representative to Parliament, Yumbe District Constituency, Woman Representative to Parliament, Kyankwanzi District Constituency, District Chairperson (LC V).
According to a statement received by our News desk, from the electoral commission, voting shall be by universal adult suffrage, and shall take place at all polling stations in the above districts/constituencies, starting at 7:00am and closing at4:00pm.
Thereafter, counting of votes and declaration of results shall take place. Political parties and independent candidates have also been encouraged to deploy a maximum of two agents at each polling station in the districts/constituencies.
