Drama ensued in the city as police arrested the Councilor Kawempe division in KCCA Muhammad Segirinya who was running around with different kinds of commodities he picked from Kikubo, in support of vendors who ply their business on city streets.
Segirinya was arrested minutes after hitting the streets with trousers, hankies, success cards among others which he pretended to be selling to city dwellers.
He was defying the directive of the minister for Kampala Betty Kamya to have all vendors evicted by KCCA enforcement officers and Police.
The issue pitting KACITA and vendors has kept the police busy since the start of the week as they remain deployed heavily to quell any kinds of protests.
Ssegirinya who belongs to the KCCA political wing sides with vendors and believes they need to be given a chance to earn a living.
