The electoral commission has approved and released a program for by-election of District Chairperson for Kalungu district.
According to the programme released this morning and seen by Howwe.biz, it will commence with an update of the National Voters’ register from Monday July 10th to Friday July 14th, at update stations in each parish throughout the district.
According to the programme, the commission has appointed July 14th as the cutoff date for registration of voters in the district. Registration and transfer of voters from one polling station to another within Kalungu district will not be conducted after this date.
Display of voters’ register will be conducted from July 24th to August 2nd 2017, at all polling stations in the district, while nominations will be conducted on 2nd and 3rd August 2017.
Campaigns will then be held from 7th to 29th August, and polling will be on August 31st 2017.
The Kalungu district LCV seat fell vacant when court nullified the election of former chairperson, Mr. Kyabaggu Richard on May 16th 2017.
