Museveni Appoints Naduli, Retains Gen Kainerugaba, Saleh in Latest Presidential Advisor Appointments

The President has re-appointed First Son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Gen Salim Saleh to Presidential advisor on special operations and Senior Presidential Advisor on Defence respectively.

President Yoweri Museveni has exercised his mandate under Article 172 (1) (a) of the Constitution to appoint and re-appoint Presidential advisors on various duties.

In his changes, the president has appointed a controversial former Minister without Portfolio, Hajji Abdul Nadduli to senior presidential advisor on Political Mobilization.

Naduli recently lost his son Jakana Naduli last year shortly after he was released from prison for sectarian remarks. He was a strong government critic who accused the president of abandoning his father.

The President has also re-appointed First Son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Gen Salim Saleh to Presidential advisor on special operations and Senior Presidential Advisor on Defence respectively. 

Saleh is the National coordinator of operation wealth creation while Muhoozi was recently dropped as Commander of Land Forces following controversial political tweets that threatened relations with neighbouring Kenya.

In new appointments, Minister of State for Housing Sam Engola is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Lango Affairs, Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Prof. Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed Kisuule, is the Senior Presidential Advisor on the Middle East.

German Ambassador to Uganda Klaus E. P. Holderbaum is now the Senior Presidential Advisor on Tourism and Investment, Ephraim Kamuntu is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Constitutional affairs, Kamuntu was formerly a minister for justice.

Mary Karooro Okurut, is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Media, she was a minister under Office of Prime Minister OPM, Hajjat Hadija Namyalo Uzeiye, the Head of the Office of the NRM National Chairman, is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs.

Former Minister of Works and Transport, Monica Azuba Ntenge, is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Works,

Those reappointed include former Vice President, Specioza Wandira Kazibwe as the Senior Presidential Advisor on population, Dr.Ezra Suruma as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Finance and  Economic Planning , all on terms of a cabinet minister.

Chris Rwakasisi as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Duties, former Minister for Trade, Amelia Kyambadde is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Industry and Prof. Edward Rugumayo is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs .

President Museveni has also re-appointed the NRM Diaspora League chairperson, Hajji Abbey Walusimbi as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs and Ambassador at large.

Kakooza Mutale is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Florence Mutyabule as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Poverty Alleviation (Busoga Region), former Energy Ministry Permanent Secretary Fred Kabagambe Kaliisa is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Oil, Gas and  Minerals whereas former Principal Private Secretary Mary Amajo is retained as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Public Service.
Former CID Director, Elizabeth Kuteesa is the Presidential Advisor on Police matters.

Geraldine Namirembe Bitamazire has also been retained as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Education Matters.
