Betty Nakibuuka, the mother of Baby Gloria, has been making headlines following her daughter's proposal.
She initially warned all of the boyfriend's ex-girlfriends not to interfere in the romantic relationship between Baby Gloria and Jonas Mbaleka.
Betty Nakibuuka has now surprised many by revealing that she hugs Baby Gloria's boyfriend and is not concerned about cultural norms.
The mother explained that she is born-again, and Jonas being Baby Gloria's boyfriend automatically makes him a son to her, so she has no problem sharing a hug with him.
"When he comes here, we hug and share physical pleasantries. He is my son, and why should I be afraid of hugging him? I am born-again, and I understand there are no limits to that," she explained.
Her actions are contrary to cultural norms, especially in Buganda culture and African traditions where it is not customary for a son-in-law to shake hands with his mother-in-law, and vice versa.
