According to daily monitor The Inspector General of Police, General Kale Kayihura has ordered for more deployment of security officers at Kyambogo University following increased reports of female students being raped at the university, among other security concerns.
While responding to the Kyambogo University acting Vice Chancellor Prof Eli Katunguka’s concerns that the student body was infiltrated by criminal elements who disguise as students to attack and rob students of their property, the IGP said security at the institution will be beefed up.
But Prof Katunguka refuted the reports saying no girl had been raped on the premises of this Uganda's second largest public university.
