Singer/KFM Presenter, Jaq Deweyi's song Oukawumunabi, which means “Hope” in Lumasaba, has been tipped to win a chance at the world’s largest music competition for peace.

The competition is organized by MasterPeace and is about musicians using their music with a cause for winning a chance to perform at Europe’s largest music festival.

In an email that we have seen, the MasterPeace- Managing Director- Cairo Office, Raghda El Halawany, informs Jaq that they are not only inspired by her song and role as Hepatitis B Goodwill Ambassador in Uganda, but also encourage her to submit her song to be considered for the Peace competition and festival.

The mail goes ahead to reveal that the MasterPeace organization, through their Cairo office, would like to film her for the Competition.

Dear Jaq Deweyi,

We are inspired by your music for the first My Music MasterPeace  Oukawamunabi  and your work of using your voice for social change and being yourself as a Hepatitis B Goodwill Ambassador in Uganda.

Through our partnership with RNW one of the biggest media platforms around the world and the biggest in the Netherlands we are bringing stories of change through music, and how music can cross borders, taboos and bring people together... We are interested through RNW local producers to film some of you on your mission and your experience being part of My Music MasterPeace first edition!

We are relaunching My Music MasterPeace again this year, following the hits success of first round, with more than 1000 peace songs submissions and 25,000 votes for winning acts in one month, and strong partnership with names like MTV IGGY, CMJ and others! For this year, My Music MasterPeace is extending its outreach with a more diverse network, teaming up with EMMA for Peace, the prestigious Euro Mediterranean Music Academy, Mideast Tunes, the biggest network for musicians in the Middle East, Un-Convention Hub, UK based global music network, and Music Aficionado, leading online community for musicians.

Hopefully we get to hear from you soon
