Police in Kampala have foiled an attempted kidnap of a female artist, a one Desire Natukunda 29 years who went through a near to death experience in lower Konge Zone, Lukuli Parish, Makindye division Kampala.
According to police reports, Natukunda was visiting her boyfriend Teenya Oscar Ssenyonga 21 year old artist when they were attacked by panga wielding thugs.
Andrew Felix Kaweesi, the police publicist explains that thugs approached the duo and asked to search them pretending to be police officers, but on realizing that they were thugs, Teenya run away leaving his girlfriend behind to be taken by these merciless goons.
“Teenya on realizing that the men were just thugs, he decided to run away, making an alarm, thugs then forced Natukunda to drive them in her vehicle Reg. No. UAT 905N Vitz. As they were moving, the thugs threatened to kill Natukunda and used her mobile phone to call the boyfriend demanding to be given 2,000,000 shillings in order to release her” Kaweesi narrated to the press on Monday.
However, Teenya decided to involve Katwe police who escorted him to the drop area only for the thugs to see the police and drive off with Natukunda again. “On reaching Kigo Road, the thugs covered Natukunda’s face with a piece of cloth, stopped and pretended to slaughter her. Later they said that they had forgiven and pushed her in a nearby swamp where they abandoned her. The thugs disappeared with her vehicle plus other personal belongings inside. The vehicle is still missing and inquiries are ongoing at Kabalagala Police station.”
