Rema Namakula’s first main effort at success in the music industry came in 2002 when she sang backup vocals in Bebe Cool and Halima Namakula’s Sambagala duet. The road to this realization officially set off in 2009 when she featured on a mega-hit Cease & Seckle by her mentor Bebe Cool after completing senior six!
Between 2011 and 2017, she registered great success especially at Hipipo Music Awards and Galaxy FM’s Zzina Awards for her outstanding work.
However, the amazing diva’s fans had to wait until yesterday to get a piece of her when she hit the stage at the Kampala Serena Hotel in a show dubbed, ‘Banyabo Concert, where the singer sent revellers squealing in delight when she got on stage at around 8:00 pm.
The show went down successfully and fans enjoyed the best of live music performance from the “Tikula” songbird.
There were also performances during the evening from the likes of Eddy Kenzo, Ykee Benda, Mariam Ndagire, and many others.
Rema also displayed a high sense of fashion while she kept gears heated up with an impressive repertoire of songs including Fire Tonight, Lean on Me, Akaliro among others.
The Katikiro (Prime Minister of Buganda Kingdom) Charles Peter Mayiga, former Chief of Defence Force, General Edward Katumba Wamala, city tycoon Kirumira were among the ‘big people’ that graced the event because of their love for Rema’s music.
All in all, this was a VERY SUCCESSFUL show that other artists will take time to emulate because of its exquisite organization.
