The Uganda Musician Association (UMA) elections were cancelled in June this year.
The presidential contestant, King Saha recently vowed to swear himself into office. He is tired of patiently waiting to claim the position that is so rightfully his, according to his declarations. The same position in question is being eyed by Cindy Sanyu.
King Saha says he cannot wait for the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, Uganda National Cultural Forum (UNCC), and the “policy board” to decide the voting date.
Other musicians who also distanced themselves from the association include Eddy Kenzo, Spice Diana, and Weasel Manizo.
“By the way, people who are close to me know that I hate issues that put me under pressure. Even if I was to be appointed as the Lord Mayor or given a post as a leader without contesting, I hate pressure. I love living in peace. I can’t waste my time in those UMA election issues which are not straight,” Weasel said in an interview.
The date for the UMA elections is yet to be communicated.
