Kadongo kamu musician turned politician Mathias Walukaaga, now the mayor of Kyengera Town Council, was elected on the National Unity Platform ticket.

The singer has opened up about the financial struggles he faced during the 2021 campaigns, revealing that he lost three cars, including a Pajero that was taken by a money lender after he failed to repay a debt of 1 million Ugandan shillings.

"I had three cars when I headed into the campaigns: a Subaru, a Mark X, and a Pajero. The Pajero was repossessed by a money lender after I couldn’t pay 1.3 million. William, the lender, took it because I couldn't clear the debt on time," Walukaaga narrated.

He also sold his Subaru at a loss, having bought it for 16 million shillings before the COVID-19 pandemic and later selling it for only 11 million shillings.
