The son of musician Bebe Cool has today signed with NEC FC after quitting Express Football Club.
Alpha Ssali signed with Express FC in August 2023 on a two-year contract but struggled to find fitness and form, causing friction between his father (who is also his agent), Bebe Cool, and the club's management.
The two sides agreed to terminate the contract for the good of the player.
Alpha Ssali has signed a two-year contract with NEC FC, and it is alleged that the deal was finalized after Muhoozi's intervention. Muhoozi, who is also the Commander of the Defence Forces (CDF) and a close friend of Bebe Cool, reportedly instructed the club's Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Okorotum, and its Chairman, Brian Buhanda, to make a place for Alpha Ssali on the team.
NEC stands for National Enterprise Corporation and was established in 1989 by an Act of Parliament to serve as a commercial arm of the Ministry of Defence and the Uganda People's Defence Forces and to produce goods and services that are beneficial to the Defence Forces and the general public.
The corporation runs various businesses, including NEC FC (founded in 2017) and Azima Water, among other enterprises.
