Musician Vinka is currently signed to Sony Music, one of the biggest record labels in the world.
She is also working with Swangz Avenue, the biggest music label in Uganda.
Speaking about working with record labels, Vinka advised upcoming artists to always read carefully and understand their contracts before affixing their signatures.
She also asked them to use legal minds and lawyers who can help them in negotiations for the good of both parties.
"Read your contracts very well and make use of lawyers. Understand them and don't be in a rush to sign. You should negotiate where necessary for the betterment of both parties," she explained in an interview with a local television station.
Vinka, however, says working with record labels is one of the best things for an artist because they bring peace and comfort.
