Musician Eddy Yaawe Sentamu, also the brother of the National Unity Platform President Bobi Wine, confirmed his intentions to contest for the Gomba West Constituency.
Eddy Yaawe, who is a seasoned politician in Kiira constituency in Wakiso District, has chosen to go back to his roots.
He is seeking to unseat NRM's Robina Rwakojo, who has represented the constituency since 2016.
"I have been in politics for a long time, and I chose to go back to my people; I want to ably represent them," he said while addressing a gathering in Kampala.
It should be noted that the Sentamu family hails from Gomba district, and with the NUP influence in Buganda, Eddy Yaawe stands a chance to win over the electorates.
Eddy Yaawe before 2021 contested for MP Kiira division on the Democratic Party ticket but always lost to FDC's Semujju Nganda.
