Moses Nsereko gained momentum this year after he announced his intention to contest for MP Kawempe North in the just-concluded by-elections.

The comical politician made headlines following his humorous actions during the party debate, which took place at its headquarters in Makerere, Kavule, earlier this month.

Despite all that, Nsereko was denied the party ticket. He contested independently and lost to Elias Nalukola after polling 32 votes against the winner, who emerged with over 17,000 votes.

Reports have now indicated that Nsereko is not ready to give up on his political career; he is planning to go to an even bigger stage.

It is alleged that Moses Nsereko is setting his sights on the biggest job in Uganda and will be contesting against Bobi Wine for the Presidential flagbearer of the NUP for the 2026 elections.

Nsereko, however, will have to make the decision after understanding his fate in the National Unity Platform, because he lost his membership after leaving the party and contesting independently in Kawempe North.

Nsereko wants to run against President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni if he is blessed with the NUP ticket.
