Eddy Kenzo is one of the most charismatic Ugandan international artists and he has proven that you don’t need a certificate in music or higher level of education to make it, he is living proof of music greatness and pure talent.
In an Interview, Kenzo revealed and accepted the fact that he does not speak very good English and the reason is mesmerizing and relatable.
Here is his story.
‘My dream was to be a professional superstar, but first I wanted to be a professional footballer because I was very good in football. Football was the reason I managed to go to school, just that, simple as it is through AC Villa and Lubiri secondary school’
‘It’s true when they say that I don’t speak English. They are right my English is not good, but for a reason.’
My mother died when I was 4-5 years, she was everything to us me and brother, so they had to chase us from the house because we couldn’t pay the rent, so I started another life on street for about 13 years… I never went to school, I never went to primary school, I only went in secondary school lubiri secondary school because of football
So my education started in S1, that is why I can’t express myself in English very well, not because I wanted but because I had no body to take me, I dropped out of school at S4 I couldn’t go further because I had no pass slip for primary.
They say that one word for a wise man is enough, so I believe there are some lessons to learn from Eddy Kenzo’s experience.
Never back down because you don’t have what others have. You must believe in yourself.
