Security operatives have arrested two officials from the ministry of Finance for soliciting bribes from investors.

The arrests came to light after Inspector General of Police, IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura briefed President Yoweri Museveni about the matter.

The president would later tweet about the briefing and hail the security agencies for the job well done.

"I have been briefed by the police about the arrest of two senior officials in the Finance Ministry who were taking bribes from investors. I thank the security agencies for acting swiftly. This is Kisanja Hakuna Mchezo & we shall be harsh on public servants guilty of corruption" the President tweeted.

The two officials who will be charged soon, have since been identified as Michael Ogwal an economist, and Godfrey Turyamuhika a commissioner.

It is not clear how the dual was arrested, but when contacted, police spokesperson AIGP Asan Kasingye told us he was not aware of the arrests. "I don't know anything about it" Kasingye told us.
