The police in Kabale are investigating a double murder that happened in Kitumba sub county, where a 37-year-old man hacked a 3-year-old boy to death with an axe and was also lynched by residents.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional police spokesperson says narrates that on Sunday 28/02/2021 at around 14:00hrs while at Kanyankwanzi cell Bukora parish Kitumba sub county Kabale district, one Franko Turyamushanga came home from Kanyangwanzi trading centre, and found the first victim one Crescent Muhwezi 3 years with a step grand mother known as Nyinakiiza Leunida.
Turyamushanga picked an axe and hacked the boy in the head to death for yet unknown reasons.
After the incident, the child’s grand mother made an alarm which attracted local residents who lynched the killer to death and burnt him beyond recognition.
The boy was a son to a cousin brother one Julius Muhwezi and was living in the same homestead.
Maate says detectives visited the scene, postmortem done and inquiries have started.
