Police in eastern district of Serere have arrested four female siblings for allegedly ending the life of their biological father after suspecting him of being responsible for the demonic attacks on them.
The siblings in custody are; Achom Ester, Ikwadi Susan,Akwango Martha,and Achumo Deborah.
The father (deceased) identified as Okure John, 65 years old,was a retired staff at Igola research station, in Serere district until his death was a resident Igora ii village in Okulongo parish, Orio sub county in Serere district.
According to police spokesperson, CP Fred Enanga on June 15,2020, Akwango (one of the sisters)returned from school crying after allegedly being possessed by evil spirits. Immediately she reached home, her three sisters resorted to prayers with the intention to cast away evil spirits that had attacked her.
"It was during these prayers that the three female siblings, while casting out evil spirits from their young sister,attacked their father inside their home that they lived together and beat him to death ending his dear life" Enanga says
Enanga further notes that after the senseless act,the siblings proceeded to pluck out both eyes of their father, claiming they were filled with an evil spirit that causes the sisters to have demonic attacks.
The attack was so mercilessly executed that blood splatter was visibly everywhere as the deceased body laid on the floor with eyes plucked out",
The police spokesperson adds that the four sisters are being held at Serere police station as they await to be produced in court to face murder charges.
