It looks like we have a repeat of the mid 90’s where struggling Ugandan musicians sought greener pastures in Europe. We have learned that now struggling artists in Uganda now are relocating to Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan to find means of being relevant following too much music pressure from fans asking for new projects every week.
News reaching us is that RnB artiste Michael Kakooza aka Micheal Ross a few days ago signed a contract with a Rwandan record label Promoafrika that will manage his music and concerts with a possibility of settling and establishing in Rwanda.
He will now be a Rwandan citizen, and will officially be referred to as a Rwandan Based Ugandan Artist.
We attempted to talk to Ross, and he kept running away from the question, and kept on telling us how he has released two new songs, Bikukuju and Ndakwikundira which is a Kinyarwanda song.
We will keep you updated.
