The ongoing feud between local musicians and DJs in Uganda regarding the promotion of Nigerian music has been a longstanding issue.
Local artists have consistently accused DJs of playing and promoting Nigerian music in the country. Conversely, DJs argue that they prioritize music that resonates with their fans, regardless of its national origin.
Simultaneously, fans have voiced their grievances against Ugandan artists, alleging that they often release subpar songs that merely mimic Nigerian music. This has added fuel to the ongoing dispute between musicians and DJs.
In a recent development, the dynamic duo of Kent and Flosso took a cheeky jab at DJ Roja during an appearance on Galaxy TV's "Deep Talk With Henrie," hosted by Mr. Henrie.
Kent and Flosso humorously alluded to DJ Roja's recent car accident and questioned whether Wizkid, a Nigerian artist, would come to his aid since Roja is known for promoting Nigerian music over local content.
"DJ Roja recently got into a car accident, let's see if Wizkid will come and help him since is the guy that promotes Nigerian music instead of local music," they said.
