Media personality Douglas Lwanga has been in the industry for over fifteen years, and his comments are always given a chance to be heard.

Speaking about the Ugandan music industry, Douglas believes the super talented artists have relaxed and that the hustlers are ruling the game.

Douglas, however, attributes this to new media like TikTok and other social media platforms, which limit gatekeeping in the promotion of songs.

The NBS After 5 host also blames the talented acts for becoming comfortable and lazy in releasing music, which has allowed space for less substantive songs on traditional media.

"This industry has two groups of people, the super talented and then the hustlers. However, I think the people that are very talented have also sat back, and they are not doing much to counter the hustlers. So the hustlers are ruling. This is because of new media like TikTok, which has no limits to promotion," he said in part in an interview with a local YouTuber.

However, Douglas believes there is still a chance for talented artists to get back to the steering wheel of the industry for development.
