Musician Kalifah Aganaga has been awarded the FDC party ticket to contest for the Kawempe North MP position.
According to Kalifah Aganaga, he is ready to contest for the position and believes he will emerge as the overall winner in the elections set to take place in March this year.
According to the FDC party, the singer has the support of the people and was considered the most capable candidate to replace NUP's Muhammad Ssegirinya.
Kalifah Aganaga will face stiff competition from NRM's Faridah Nambi and the candidate selected by NUP from Magala Umar, Counsel Elias Nalukoola, Alex Luwemba, and other independent contenders.
The by-election will take place on March 13 this year.
