"I am not saying people should not drink but drink responsibly, many men have traded their families with sachet drinks and this is horrible we need a change”
The song Tim Pa Kongo comes at a time when Gulu district is grappling with the challenge of alcoholism. This followed Council resolution to enact a by-law that banned alcohol sale in sachets in the district.
However, the ban has attracted a mixed reaction from artist, politicians, and activist who criticized sachet drinks, saying it is ruining the lives of young people while others said it has reduced productivity in families hence increased poverty levels.
