It seems a bit of a concert clash is growing in the music industry. Alien Skin, fresh off announcing Cricket Oval as the venue for his big show, isn't sweating the fact that fellow singer Biswanka Derrick has scheduled his own concert for the very same date, February 21st.
Alien Skin, the "Fangone Forest boss," dismissed concerns about the date conflict, saying the Ugandan music scene is big enough for everyone. He believes there's plenty of audience to go around and isn't worried about sharing the date.
Biswanka, for his part, denies he chose the date to spite Alien Skin. He even cheekily claimed he'd consider changing his date if Alien Skin came to him and begged.
This prompted a laugh from Alien Skin, who seemed completely unconcerned about the younger artist, whom he claims to have introduced to the industry, scheduling a competing show.
"Uganda is big enough for all of us," Alien Skin said, adding that anyone who wants to hold a concert should go ahead. He pointed out that not everyone can fit into Lugogo Cricket Oval anyway, and even suggested Nina Roz could hold a concert nearby at Kyadondo.
Regarding Biswanka, he said, "He should do whatever he wishes. If they requested us to meet him, we will go and humbly beg him not to stage a show. But, he is not challenging me, and I don't know why people find it a problem."
He finished this statement with a hearty laugh, clearly not taking the situation too seriously.
