Forum for democratic change, FDC party deputy secretary general Harold Kaija has accused the police of wanting to kill opposition ironman Dr. Kiiza Besigye.

Kaija told the press at the FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi that continued detention of Besigye could result into his death by officers of the force.

“Just this morning, Dr. Besigye was supposed to go to high court as a law abiding citizen to renew his bail but as he dressed to get out of his house, the police stopped him from going to court. We condemn it, we suspect that these guys want to kill Dr. Kiiza Besigye and even harm him” said Kaija.

Besigye was this morning blocked from heading to the High court to fulfill his Bail condition. Police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi told the press that Besigye is not under siege but they are just keeping him away from causing trouble in the city.

“We are continuing to monitor and regulate as a precautionary measure, movements of Dr. Besigye. He has openly come out that he is going to continue with his defiance campaign and we cannot abet that crime” Kaweesi told the media.

He added that in any case their intelligence tells them that Besigye is planning to move anywhere, they will keep blocking him.

“In any situation we find him in preparation to engage in any activity that is going to breach the peace we shall restrict his movements. Besigye is not under police siege, we only control his movements on the basis of intelligence that he is going to cause breach of peace” he added.
