Veteran Politician, and former Lands Minister, Joash Mayanja Nkangi hospitalized at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala where he has been receiving treatment for stomach-related complications.
According to Josephine Mayanja-Nkangi, his daughter, Mayanja is generally stable and pain free.
She said in a communication on behalf of the family that; "At the moment, everything humanly possible is being done to manage the situation. He is generally stable and pain free. As a family we appreciate the fact that daddy belongs to the nation, not just to us. We know that many would like to see him. However, it is critical that he rests so his strength can be renewed." reads part of the statement.
In a telephone conversation, she cautions against those circulating unfounded information about Joash Mayanja Nkangi's health.
Joash Mayanja Nkangi has been admitted at Nakasero Hospital since mid-last month after his family suspected he was suffering from pneumonia. His daughter says an Oncologist has since examined and tested him for possible cancer. She asks everybody to respect his dignity and the right to privacy.
