President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni have arrived in Addis Ababa for the African Union 29th Ordinary Assembly.
The 29th Ordinary Session of the Summit of the African Union commenced on 27th June and will run up to 4th July 2017.
The summit is running under the theme “Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investments in Youth”.
The Summit is taking place at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and it started with the 34th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee from 27th – 28th June 2017, and 31st Ordinary Session of the Executive Council, from 30th June – 1st July 2017.
Today Monday 3rd to tomorrow Tuesday 4th July 2017, is the 29th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
According to Linda Nabusayi, the presidential press secretary, Museveni arrived moments after Rwandan President Paul Kagame’s arrival was announced. The two leaders join other African presidents this morning for a closed door session marking the beginning of the Ordinary Session of Heads of State.
