Norbert Mao, the president general of the opposition Democratic Party has this morning been arrested for leading a group of party members in a procession to launch K'OGIKWATAKO' Campaign to protect Article 102(b) of the Constitution.

Mao was arrested alongside party Secretary General Gerald Siranda and other party members.

The group which was marching to the constitutional square was confronted by police officers under command of DPC CPS Joseph Bakaleke, before arrest.

They were all taken into custody at CPS. Prior to his arrest, Mao told the press that even if Museveni says the debate about age limit is wastage of time, they do not believe him, and will not wait for the bill to be passed under their noses.

“What is the fuss when the president himself has said this thing doesn’t exist? My answer to Museveni is simple, why do we vaccinate people? We don’t vaccinate sick people. We are immunizing people against Musevenism” Mao said.

He reminded Ugandans, that Museveni once trashed the public talk that his son Muhoozi was joining military, by lying to the state that he was only LDU.

“We know Museveni too well. He once told us that his son Muhoozi was a mere LDU, he is now a Major General, even higher ranking that Kasirye Gwanga who he found in the army, and several others who fought in Luweero triangle” Mao added.

By press time, DPC Bakaleke was yet to release a statement on Mao’s arrest.
