The inspector general of police, IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura has recalled with immediate effect to the police professional standards unit, SSP Ematu John from North Kyoga, SP Tubonane Joel, from Lira, and SP Eyaku Tom from Maracha.
In a letter to DPCs of Lira, Namutumba, Maracha, Kayunga, Mityana, Buliisa and many other areas, the recalled officers have also been put under investigation.
The IGP accordingly deployed SSP Kakamba Paul from course to Kidepo as RPC, SSP Nkulega Peter from course to North Kyoga, SSP Kagarura Bob from L&E to Ssezibwa as RPC.
SP Rutagira Musiimenta from Buliisa to Namutumba as DPC, SP Obia George from course to Kayunga as DPC, SP Mafundo Emmanuel from Mityana to Lira as DPC, SP Sserunjogi John Bosco from course to Mityana as DPC, and SP Arop Bosco from course to Buliisa as DPC.
“Transfers take immediate effect. Report departure and arrival” the letter says.
Currently, several police officers are under investigations while others are in custody over several issues including kidnap and drug scandals. However, the IGP in his letter does not clearly state why the officers are being investigated.
