Cabinet has set out a number of objectives including firmly renewing government commitment to fight corruption by strengthening synergies, as a way to achieve zero tolerance to corruption policy 2018.
Addressing the press at Uganda Media Centre this morning, Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo said that the decision was taken during a cabinet seating at State house Entebbe on Monday.
According to OO, the zero tolerance to corruption policy 2018 also has an objective to institute and effectively enforce anti-corruption measures. This includes, strengthening and enforcing existing policies.
The police also aims at Inculcating a culture of integrity, accountability, and patriotism at all levels.
Corruption constitutes major challenge for businesses operating or planning to invest in Uganda, costing the country billions of shillings. The Judiciary, Police, and public service, land and tax administration among others, are the most corrupt agencies in the country.
