Police in Nakasongola have shot and killed a local musician during the struggle to find an assailant who beheaded four people on Thursday.

Caroline Akoth the Savannah Regional Police Commander identified the deceased as Kelvin Mutebi alias Sida Man, a resident of Kansirye village in Nakasongola town council.
According to Akoth, Sida Man was shot last night at 11 pm by security officers who were in pursuit of a panga wielding man who had hacked four people dead in the afternoon.

A Police officer allegedly stopped Mutebi during the patrol but he attempted to run, prompting the officers to shoot at him, thinking he was the killer.

Sida Man was then rushed to Bombo Military Hospital where he died on Friday morning due to multiple wounds.

Investigations into the murder of the four residents are still on-going and security personnel are still deployed in the area.
