21 people arrested at a Malwa Joint in Naguru

A total of 21suspects were arrested for crowding and drinking a Local Brew (Malwa) in Kasenke 4 and 5 Naguru during an operation by officers from Jinja Road Police station in relation to the Presidential guidelines on COVID19.

A total of 21suspects were arrested for crowding and drinking a Local Brew (Malwa) in Kasenke 4 and 5 Naguru during an operation by officers from Jinja Road Police station in relation to the Presidential guidelines on COVID19. 

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy police spokesperson says inquiries were instituted against the suspects for doing a neglect act likely to cause an infection of disease, there files will be forwarded to the State attorney for advise and will later be arraigned in courts of law.

“We want to urge all members of the public to follow the guidelines that were issued by Ministry of Health in line with fighting COVID19 Pandemic. Let's keep the fight going” he says.
Meanwhile, CPS Kampala Patrol Team last night arrested Abasa aka Duplicate, Sande Gerald and Nyenso Magisibo after they were caught trying to break into a shop along Ben kiwanuka street in city centre Kampala. 

Upon search, the suspects were found with Knives, suspected narcotic drugs and breaking implements.

It has also been established that one of them, Sande was previously charged with robbery in court last year and remanded to Luzira. 

Owoyesigyire says investigations are still ongoing and the trio will be arraigned before a court of law after consulting with the state attorney on the charges preferred. 
“We want to assure the business community that, as they stay home, we shall strengthen our patrols, both foot and motorized in a bid of stopping such acts from happening” he noted.
