The National Broadcaster, UBC has revealed that 10 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.
The staff were part of the 332 samples that were taken on August 21st 2020 at the UBC headquarters in Kampala, for which 160 results have been received. This means more samples could test positive too.
A statement issued by the management indicates that they have since embarked on the recommended health care management processes for all the affected persons and commenced contact tracing.
“The corporation would like to assure the general public that we are committed to playing our part in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and we shall continue to serve the public” part of the statement reads.
Many media houses including NTV, NBS, New Vision and many radio stations have confirmed COVID-19 cases amongst their staff members.
