As members of the ruling National Resistance Movement, NRM party in Ssembabule district prepare to vote Parliamentary flag bearers, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Major General Sabiiti Muzeyi has pitched camp in the area to calm any tensions.
The primaries for Mawogola North and West constituencies in Ssembabule district are set for tomorrow Wednesday 30th September after they were postponed due to political tensions that left some supporters in hospitals.
The hottest in Mawogola North County is between Shartis Musherure Kuteesa, daughter to incumbent Sam Kuteesa, Godfrey Aine Kaguta the younger brother to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Salim Kiseka.
Meanwhile, the incumbent MP Joseph Ssekabiito is tussling out with Anifa Kawooya Bangirana, in Mawogola West. Anifa is crossing from Sembabule district Woman Member of Parliament to now represent Mawogola West.
Now, Major General Sabiiti Muzeyi who had moved to the area prior to the botched 4th September election has returned to the area to ensure there is no blood shed.
On Monday, Muzeeyi held a closed door meeting with local police commanders at the district headquarters, and issued them strict instructions to avert any forms of violence in the area.
According to Muhammad Nsubuga the Greater Masaka regional Police Spokesperson, the deputy is in the area to purposely supervise a secure election.
