According to Abbey Ngako, the Kiira region police spokesperson, they received a report that Weyeye was grazing cattle with five other children on Wednesday evening when a stranger showed up with a machete and chopped off his head before vanishing from the scene.

“We were grazing the cows within the green belts of Kakira sugarcane plantation just like we do on a daily basis, but this time around, a man who seemed to have followed us for close to 30 minutes got hold of Weyeye in his neck area, chopped off his head before disappearing in the sugarcane plantation,” the witness said.
Lazalo Wabumba the deceased’s father says he was notified about the incident around 6:30 pm on Wednesday and residents mobilized, tried to search for the suspect in vain.
