The police in Kira Division have arrested the driver of a motor vehicle which knocked and killed two people, leaving another critically injured.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan police, the driver is being detained at Ntinda, awaiting transfer to Kireka police station.
The incident happened on Thursday night when a motor vehicle Reg. No UAJ030R knocked the three people along Kireka-Kinawataka road. The driver then attempted to flee the scene of crime, but was arrested.
“The vehicle was intercepted around Ntinda and the driver arrested. He is waiting to be transported to Kireka Police station on allegation of causing an accident leading to death of two persons” Owoyesigyire said.
He added however, that the whereabouts of the third victim who was injured in the accident are unknown and police are investigating the incident.
