An angry mob in Gweri zone of Karambi ward in Fort Portal North has beheaded a man suspected for stealing a chicken.
The incident was recorded on Sunday, when police was called to pick the body of the decapitated suspect.
It is alleged that the unidentified man was caught at around 4am in the morning with suspected stolen chicken. An angry mob formed very fast and they beheaded him and dumped his body dumped in the middle Kagusu road in Kagusu village of Gweri ward.
According to residents who live near the scene of crime, they heard noise accompanied by loud cries but feared to intervene with the angry mob and only managed to approach after the killers had left.
They found the body lying in the middle of the road with a sack of chicken tied around his arms.
The suspect could have stolen from the neighboring villages and not from the same area where he was decapitated
The body was later conveyed to Fort portal regional referral hospital for postmortem.
