Two men have been arrested for impersonating as State House employees and forcing a man to sign a transfer of 80 acres of land.

The suspects, arrested by Police in Luwero district have been identified as Steven David Kakembo a resident of Kazo Angola zone and a surveyor of Polar Survey Consult together with Yasin Kyitezera a resident of Kawempe Mbogo in Kampala city.

The suspects, impersonating as employees of State House under the Land Directorate intimidated and forced Daniel Walusimbi a resident of Kasoma zone in Luwero town council to sign transfer forms of 80 acres of land to the names of Emmanuel Mayambala.

According to Isah Ssemwogerere the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, Walusimbi is an estate administrator of 198.727 hectares formerly belonging to his grandfather late Issa Walusimbi had wrangles with family members after refusing to share the land with the intended beneficiaries.

However, Mayambala, a son to the deceased brother of Walusimbi approached lawyers at Cairo Building, Kampala city who connected him to the suspects to help him get a share of the land.

Mayambala signed a memorandum of understanding with the suspects to give them 25 acres of land in case they successfully help him to secure a piece of land.

Ssemwogerere says that on September 8 this year, the suspects travelling in a Nissan car locally known as a drone with registration number B405 DLK claiming that they were State House employees seized Walusimbi before they held him inside the tinted car and forced him to sign a transfer of 80 acres of land to Emmanuel Mayambala.

They also ordered him to sign nine blank transfer forms and thereafter sold part of the land.

He reported the matter to Luwero Central Police Station which responded and arrested the two suspects.

It is reported alleged however, that the suspects have used the same trick to intimidate and grab land from other people in Katikamu sub-county in Luwero district.

Ssemwogerere says the suspects face charges of fraud and impersonating as State House employees.
