Police in Kanungu are searching for a 43 year old man over the murder of his wife. The suspect has been identified as Arinitwe Vincent, a resident of Kabatu village, Kashojwa parish, Rugyeyo subcounty in Kanungu district.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Tushabomwe Gloria a 36yrs old wife to Arinitwe.
It is alleged that on 13th/12/2021 at unknown time, Arinitwe and Tushabomwe developed Domestic misunderstandings. The husband picked a panga and cut his wife before disappearing to a yet to be known destination.
The neighbors became suspicious today morning of when they saw the door open very early in the morning and when they checked, they saw the deceased lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut in the throat.
Police led by D/Asp Tindyebwa peter 0c CID Kanungu visited the scene of crime, recorded statements from neighbors and recovered the killer weapon ( panga) near the dead body .
Blood samples have also been taken while the dead body was conveyed to Katate health centre 4 for postmortem.
The suspect still at large.
