Maj. Gen. Benon Biraaro, one of the 2016 presidential candidates has conceded defeat, but termed the just concluded election, an embarrassment.

“I lost. I conceded. But in what system? It was an embarrassment. Somewhere, the presidential elections were free but not fair. Museveni won a primitive democratic election where people carry ballots in sleeves.”

Biraaro also took some time to advise fellow contender FDC’s Kiiza Besigye, “I advise Dr Besigye against trying to become Uganda's Mandela. It might not work.”

Biraaro also says he will stand in 2021 for presidency and if he fails, he will not attempt any more.

The farmer’s party candidate also commented on NAADS, saying; “If you are bringing guys who failed to manage their own farms to manage NAADS, give me a break. It was a mistake putting NAADS in the hands of the army, where is the advisory part?”

He also says the youth should be taught and empowered with the 21st century skills and then given loans to execute the knowledge learnt. Purpose of education should be equipping people with skills.

Biraaro also thinks Uganda should remain a member of the ICC.

Biraaro came second last in last week’s election with only Biraaro 0.27% of the tallied votes.
