The police Firing squad has shot dead four thugs and recovered two guns in the areas of Gangu Zone C, Busabala Parish, Makindye – Ssabagabo Sub County in Wakiso District.
Addressing the media in Kampala this morning, police spokesperson Fred Enanga said a team of flying squad acting on a tip off together with other crime Intelligence Operatives waylaid a group of five thugs who had come to search for a gun which was left in a banana plantation in the above zone by one of their colleagues three days ago.
According to Enanga, the operatives shot dead four thugs, while one escaped unhurt and two guns were recovered from the dead thugs.
He added; “The guns include; ooze gun with serial number yet to be established, and a pistol No 41310229 loaded with 07 rounds of ammunition.”
Bodies of the dead thugs were carried for a postmortem to Mulago city Mortuary while the recovered guns were taken to flying squad Headquarters at CPS Kampala where they are exhibited and investigations are ongoing at Katwe police stations.
