The Uganda people’s congress, UPC Jimmy Akena faction has launched an attack against the media for giving rival faction president Joseph Bbosa airtime.

Addressing the press at Uganda house this morning, a charged Michael Osinde Orach the faction publicist said they are saddened by the reluctance of a section of media’s refusal to accept that Akena is the only party president.

He explains that the party presented a court of Appeal ruling confirming that Hon. Jimmy Akena as President of UPC.

“The party held elections last year on May 30th in which Akena was returned unopposed for the final vote at the Delegates’ conference. He secured 67 districts out of 112; the threshold to gain eligibility to contest in the final round of 38 districts” said Osinde.

He added; “In percentage terme, Hon. Akena secured 75% of the vote and the runner up, David Pulkol received 10.7% with only 12 districts giving him the vote.”

He roared that it is untenable that a person who was a distant third, Joseph Bossa with 11 districts and 6% of the actual vote can parde around the media studios claiming to be president of UPC.

“Joseph Bossa’s only constituency is in media,” Orach roared.

He tasked the media to play a positive role in helping the nation to progress and to respect the Courts of law and the democratic will of the people of Uganda.
