President Yoweri Museveni has visited Ugandan troops under AMISOM at the Halane Base Camp headquarters.
The president made the visit right after attending the IGAD Heads of State Summit in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
This is the second time Gen. Museveni who is the commander in chief of the military has visited the troops in the war torn country.
“It is the second time I am visiting our troops in Somalia. The first was in November 2010. A fierce battle to liberate Mogadishu was underway then. We eventually pushed out Al-Shabaab bandits by July 2011.” said the President.
He added; “I thank our troops for the good work done in Somalia. They have helped Somalia fight the enemy & set a good example.”
