Five members of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change, FDC party have picked nomination forms to vie for the party’s highest office, of presidency.
Addressing the weekly party press briefing at Najjanankumbi this morning, Paul Mwiru the deputy party publicist confirmed that Hon. Mubarak Munyagwa, Hon. Patrick Amuriat, Lukubila Moses, Dan Matsiko and Moses Byamugisha have picked forms.
However, the most anticipated candidates, Rtd.Maj.Gen. Mugisha Muntu and party secretary General, Nathan Nandala Mafabi are yet to pick the forms.
There were reports that Mafabi had sent in a representative to pick his forms, but the secretary general denied the allegations. He wrote to the party electoral commission explaining the issue.
Interested candidates are expected to pick forms and return them by August 12th 2017. During the same period of time, candidates have a right to pull out of the race.
