FDC leaders, Dr. Kiiza Besigye, Ingrid Turinawe the chief party mobilize, party presidential candidate Patrick Amuriat Oboi and Innocent Tashobya the Rukungiri Municipality deputy speaker have been granted Bail.
The group including three other people was this morning arraigned before Rukungiri chief Magistrate Julius Borore and granted a 5 million non cash Bail.
All suspects denied all charges before Chief Magistrate Julius Barore.
Prosecution however dropped the murder charge against the leaders, and instead charged them with inciting violence and malicious damage to property.
Party deputy secretary general Harold Kaija says they fought to get a post mortem report of the late Edson which showed that the deceased was shot dead, and not stonned as police had alleged.
Kaija says when police saw the postmortem report from Karoli Lwanga Hospital Nyakibare making rounds on social media, they had no grounds to hold onto the murder charge.
The charge sheet presented in Court today indicated that the suspects incited the public to assault a police officer, Donovico Twinomugisha and attacked his house; as well willfully and unlawfully damaging a police vehicle number UP 2618.
The accused will return to court on November 16th.
