After failing to break even since its commencement in 2014, the giant telecommunication company seems to be living its last days on the Ugandan market.
The company's sales revenue dropped from 1.5 BN to 150M monthly.
On 9th January 2018, the human resource and Administration Manager, Christine Sekyana sent an email to all employees under the title, "Disposal of Assets" asking those interested in buying assets to show interest.
The assets issued for sale include 11 POS Apple desktops, 4 50" inch Samsung Smart LED TVs, A Hiace Van, Nissan Van and a Tuk Van among others.
One of the insiders was quoted by our snoops saying, "The Company is on a drip, it has failed to clear its bills, it has been selling off its assets and its now running on the aide of enablers."
It is remembered that late last year, the company had regular internet outages because 35 of its masts were switched off for nonpayment.
This left its partners and customers in dilemma.
Since then, company's sales points at Victoria Mall Entebbe, Freedom City and Metroplex shopping Mall have all been closed because of a drop in the number customers since they all prefer 4G network offered by their competitors.
One of the other key issues is the resignation of former CEO Mr. JOHN ADENGO, who is still an employee until the end of his notice period next month.
It has been a question unanswered and has left the Company in the hands of Mr. Ssebale Derrick, interim CEO at their main office on Plot 1, Kololo Hill Drive.
The departures and failure to generate sales revenue clearly explains the mismanagement at the former 4G internet giant.
Furthermore, mismanagement and rapidly dropping in sales led to the offloading of big salary earning employees and they were all replaced by David Nsiyona, the former Sales manager at struggling Uganda Telecom and Warid Telecom at 20M monthly to rescue the company's collapsing sales.
But David's abilities have totally done nothing except accelerating the sales revenue drop.
Its notably clear that the last time the student ambassadors received salary was November 2017.
They had been working for 20k every 4 hours.
The company has instead resorted to terminating over 150 student ambassadors' contracts without any reason. Ugandans have already ganged up on social media platforms against Vodafone under the hashtag #PayUgandaSaveUganda.
