In August, singer Eddy Kenzo was appointed as a presidential advisor on creatives by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
While his appointment was met with excitement by some fellow artists, others, like Gravity Omutujju, are not optimistic.
Gravity believes the appointment will not benefit artists or the industry at large. He explained that the appointment will only benefit Kenzo personally, as there is nothing new he can tell the President. He advised the Big Talent boss to enjoy his salary in peace.
"His appointment won’t benefit the industry. He can’t advise the President on anything new. We’ve been telling him the same things for years, and nothing has changed. Kenzo should just enjoy his salary," Gravity said in an interview with a local television station.
Gravity also stated that Kenzo’s appointment is politically motivated, and artists should not expect much from it.
