Once upon a time there was a music general from busoga called Kigenyi Amos ,popularly known by the stage name Mega dee. The singer was a Kyabazinga of a sort , he is responsible for songs like Karibu, Tirime , ate oba wanchawa -which were a main stay on the Radio and Tv playlists then....( about 6 years ago )
Mega dee was treated with piled esteem and huge support not only in Busoga but also other corners of Uganda, including Karamoja and Kaberebere.......
A day came , not like any another day - Mega Dee had disappeared in the thin...his once popular songs were kicked unsparingly to the dusty cupboards like koffi Olomide's Lingala.
The last two things we had about Mega Dee were - a concert flop then his intention to leave the country for kyeyo probably because his subjects were nolonger loyal to him and his music. Did he get a Visa ?
If you asked that question yesterday ,the answer would be ' I don't know ' anyway Mega dee has all along been framing life in the white man's land. We're told he can now mimic Lil Wayne's raps...he found some green grass and can now sponsor a Facebook page.
Well, when the news that the reigning Queen of Kitone Desire Luzinda was to grace the Basoga Twegaite convention in minneseto- Mega dee secretly wore and kept a black man's smile under his fist only to be revealed if he met desire....lets cut this story short.
Desire Luzinda was in minnesota few days ago and there she met Gen.Mega or Gen.Mega revealed himself...we have the photos, ( only hope the general whispered something like - twileyo fembi, take me home )
